South Plains Nurse Practitioners (SPNP) provide Primary Health Care through their work with individuals, families, groups and communities. They provide health services in health promotion, disease and injury prevention, cure, rehabilitation and support. Nurse practitioners, using their full scope of practice, will diagnose and assist client responses to actual and potential health problems, in order to promote wellness. NPs take into account the health care needs, abilities and resources available to the client. They manage common and complex diseases in collaboration with the client and directly and indirectly with the physician and other members of the health care team.

South Plains Nurse Practitioners of the Lubbock area, meet once a month usually the 3rd Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. A dinner and healthcare speaker program is sponsored by local pharmaceutical reps. business meetings occur every other month for members. Yearly dues are $40, and are due each January.
